KeyBuild Enhancements

Truss Bearing on Top Chord Location Improvement

KeyBuild's truss-to-truss connection identification logic has been improved to better support box girder configurations.  Previously in KeyBuild if you had a truss bearing on the top chord of a truss girder, when you ran the truss girder in KeyTruss the point loads applied from the carried trusses were always applied to the bottom chord of the carrying truss girder.  Now KeyBuild will recognize this configuration and in KeyTruss the loading from the carried trusses will be applied to the carrying truss girder's top chord.

Extend Planes by Adjacent Planes Improvements

There are two methods available in KeyBuild for extending roof and ceiling planes; Extend by Intersection Lines and Extend By Adjacent Planes.  The setting for determining which method to use is on the Job Settings page of the General Information dialog box. With this release the Extend by Adjacent Planes method has been improved.

The improvements include:

  • The selection of overlapping planes.  Previously if you had planes extended over un-extended planes it was difficult to close the un-extended plane using this method.

  • The functionality of holding down the <Shift> key to toggle between selecting planes and selecting lines has been expanded to allow the selection of any bearing (except posts), overhangs, gable framing members (except crush blocks), and construction lines to form the next cut line.

  • The yellow "cutting line" is now displayed properly while extending the plane.

  • Only visible entities are now selectable.

  • Improved error messages.

  • The Right-mouse button allows you to backup each selection while extending the plane.

.CSV File Generation Through Plot Output in KeyBuild

New functionality has been added to KeyBuild to now generate a .csv file for material and hanger lists for standard plots, framer's plots, and calc plots.  These .csv files can be found in the job's sub-directory folder, and can be easily imported in spreadsheet programs like MS Excel.

KeyBuild Bug Fixes

Jack Truss Top Chord Bearing

In previous versions of KeyBuild when you had a hip-end with rafter and sub-girder corner sets the closed face jack that intersects the master hip girder at the haunch, where the corner rafter also intersect the master hip girder, the face jack was picking up the rafter as a top chord bearing.  This face jack should only have a bottom chord bearing on to the master hip girder at this location.

Truss Top Chord Bearing Fix

In the previous version of KeyBuild, when you had a hip-end with a rafter and sub-girder corner set, the side jacks with extended top chords were receiving an extra bearing when you opened them in the KeyTruss program, directly above where the bottom chord stops at the sub-girder (first face jack).  There should be no bearing at this point along the top chord and the issue has been fixed.

Truss Loading Fixes

Extended Truss Top Chord Loading Fix

The loading of trusses in KeyBuild continues to be improved.  In previous versions when you had a hip-end with jack trusses with extended top or bottom chord sections, like a California hip or a Stepdown hip with rafter and sub-girder corner sets, the side jack nearest the master hip-end girder was getting too much load on the top chord section that extends out to the corner rafter.  Loading has been improved and you will no longer get extra loading on this section of the top chord.  Note you would only see this loading issue if you output with loads using Edit Trusses.  (Note this view is a plan view of the top chords only)

Outside-Corner Overhang Loading Fix

The loading of trusses in KeyBuild continues to be improved.  In previous versions uplift loads were being improperly applied to truss and rafter overhangs that extended beyond the outside corner of a building.  This issue has been fixed.

Material List Generated from KeyBuild Organized by Label Not by Product

In previous versions of KeyBuild the product material lists generated out of KeyBuild has not been properly sorted by label, for example J10 would come before J2.  This has been corrected to now sort material lists by proper ascending order.

FFIISS Functionality Missing from Ceiling Plane Macro

In previous versions of KeyBuild the FFIISS dimensioning format was not honored in the ceiling plane macro.  This has been fixed.

Plot Presets from Structure Not Honored by KeyBuild

In previous versions of KeyBuild when generating a plot from KeyBuild,  Structure's labeling presets for the ply and spacing were not honored.  This has been fixed.

Fix Load Tolerance Tooltip in General Information

In previous versions of KeyBuild in the Load Info tab of the General Information screen a comprehensive tooltip was included for the Load Tolerance field.  This tooltip would show up whenever you hovered over any of the fields of the Load Info tab.  This tooltip has been fixed to only show up when hovering over the Load Tolerance for Truss Consolidation field.

.ITR File Generation Creates Reversed Loads

In previous versions of KeyBuild when generating a truss .itr file the loading on the truss could be reversed when the left bearing was outside of the span.  This bug has been fixed.

Inaccurate Z Height when Entity Input Macro is Open

In previous versions of KeyBuild when you activated the Entity Input Macro, the Z coordinate displayed a value relative to the active level's current top of plate height rather than displaying the active level's current top of plate value.  This has been fixed

Clip corner Macro Crash

In previous versions of KeyBuild when an overhang was automatically generated through the Clip Off Corner, Three Sided Bay, or Five Sided Bay Macros and you tried to move the endpoint of these overhangs the program would freeze.  This has been fixed.

Gable Overhangs Not Properly Extending

In previous versions of KeyBuild overhangs that were placed on gable ends would not properly extend when planes were cut.  This has been fixed.

Join Bearing Error

In previous versions of KeyBuild when a bearing was split and then you attempted to rejoin the bearing an error would occur.  This has been fixed.

Panel Batching Cut List Bug Fix

A bug has been fixed in the Panel Stack batching functionality.  Previously, when you had more than one saw in a scheme, the pieces for all saws were being combined into one cut list.  This made it impossible to isolate specific types of sticks to a specific saw's cut list.  Now, the cut list is per saw, based on each saw's setup allowing unique cut list per saw.
